METADATA MANUAL - Last Modified 18/4/00 Introduction Using Reg Standard Email AVEL metdata element list This reference manual provides details on the Australian Virtual Engineering Library (AVEL) Metadata Standard. It is intended for use by AVEL staff who are creating or managing the metadata for engineering information sources or services as part of the AVEL Project. The manual provides guidance for the use of metadata and how to assign metadata. It is important that project staff familiarise themselves with the procedures referred to in this manual. The manual defines the semantics of AVEL Metadata, and explains what the elements mean and how they can be used.
